one with old paper

The challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous is to use up some old paper ( link over at the side, I need to work out how to embed them in the text)

I started with this effort, there are some papers here from 2006, but I wasn't too happy with it, I can't work out what is lacking, any ideas?

So I started again and put together this, there os some old American Crafts Christmas paper, some Dream Street that i never got round to using ( I bought it for the birds on the other side) and a piece of Pebbles ink. It is about the day, aged just 4 and a half months, Nancy decided to stop breastfeeding, talk about unprepared it was the first day of our holiday so we had to go out and buy bottles and sterilizer. The look on her face in this picture tells a lot about her wilfulness and stubborn streak.

  1. I love the beachy colors in your first LO and then the yellow of the sun. What a great photo in your 2nd LO!! I like your mix of papers and how you pulled the hearts and circles out of your paper for embellishments.

  2. these are both wonderful. any time I can't put my finger on what is missing in a layout, I usually grab my ink and ink the edges of the page. I think it looks great. the colors in the second one are so perfect for the photo. what a cutie. =) thanks for using your stash and playing with us at Scrapbookers Anonymous.

  3. Oh, I love both of these. On the first layout I love how you cut our around the picture and the little sun. On the second one, I love the paper, that little face, and the story behind the layout! Thanks for digging into your stash and playing with Scrapbookers Anonymous!
