For some reason Arthur wanted to take a picture of himself as a baby to school this week- so this lead to a few delightful hours of looking at photos  and videos of Arthur and Stanley as babies- Arthur was really funny- he kept looking at videos of himself and saying "look at what he's doing" 


This one is for the latest challenge at Sassy Lil Sketches I've changed it a little bit- instead of one photo I have three- It's tricky to see but there is stitching between the photos and the paper


Finally I managed to get my hands on some Hambly Washi tape- oh how I love it......


This was a great LO- super economical- all from scraps that were in my draw

picnic in Drenthe

Shimelle's got a lot going on at the moment- a sketch, a starting point and then her 4x6 photo love challenge at Two Peas- its up to 9 photos on a LO now. The LO is based on a large pocket to fit in eight of the nine photos.


I thought this was fantastic- it gave me the chance to scrap a load of photos that weren't really good enough to scrap on their own but were printed out anyway and sitting in a pile.


the photos are all from a day out cycling in Drenthe visiting hunnebeden ( ancient megalith burials) and stopping for a picnic in the sun

Its a Lo about the photo shoot in the garden and the very many natural shots I ended up with of my three wrestling on the mud in the garden- its not what i really wanted but.......

marzipan roses

using Shimelle's sketch this is another page for my sister's wedding album. It's perhaps a little difficult to see from the photo here but her wedding cake was three tiers  with a cupcake on top- one of the tiers was covered in pink marzipan roses- hence the title. 


I think I need to add some journalling but I'm a little hazy on the details of which friend made the cake - this is clearly something I need to get right!

the Wham Years

Ok Anne so maybe I cheated but I had to share this LO for your challenge at another Freakin Scrappy Challenge- I promise I'll do another with a later photo as well ( I made this LO last year so not really for this challenge) Sorry :(


the challenge this time at AFSC is to scrap your school years- using a photo of you and then some form of memorabilia-  the music from the day or some such 


the actual list is
 scrap your school days – your own school days incorporating three of: a photo of you back in the day, or a momento from those years , perhaps: a song title, lyrics or album cover from that era, your favourite school subject, or a page from one of your texts, diaries or notebooks , a scan or your yearbook – whatever is representative of your school days


So anyway my lo- I bought the Wham LP at a charity shop with the specific purpose of making a LO_ I have no record player any longer


 I used the cover as the basis of my paper- didn't mind that it had a sticker on with the photo of the band and then used the colours of the album for my inspiration- the photo was from my first year at Secondary school ( age 11) and I remember this was the second attempt at the photo- I was recalled to have a second go after the negatives came back! The first must have been dreadful!


I also used some button badges- I remember having a white cotton rucksack liberally covered in badges like these

The latest challenge over at From Screen 2 Scrap is a classic for the Halloween month- Psycho

As ever Shazza has set some add criteria to the challenge

this month is

1. a spooky house

2. a silhouette of a figure

3. a one word title that's cut in half

this is the poster

And this is what I did with it.

I made a LO about the Sherlock Holmes stories I have started re-reading recently. I started with the photo as my spooky house and silhouette of a figure but guessed I should have them on the LO- so I cut out a figure and stamped a house  ( although it isn't very spooky) 


the book is displayed like this on my yellow shelf ( I have colour coded my bookshelves) because I love the cover- I thought it looked like a good image for a halloween page

die cuts

the latest challenge  at Scrapbookers Anonymous is live and it turned out to be a bit more of a challenge  than I expected when I first saw it

the challenge is to use up some die cuts - whether its a die cutting machine or pre printed die cut sheets.

the problem is I don't have a die cutting machine but I do have box marked die cuts ( or I did before I moved house and decided to get rid of it!) 

So for this month's challenge I had to dig deep and find two sheets of Basic Grey die cuts that I had hidden away in my stash

This is what I rustled up

the card

A very simple Lo using one die cut tree and a misted tree through the gap that was left- I went with kraft and blue to reflect the colours in the photo- its a view of Como from the funicular that runs up the mountain

But then I panicked as little and thought there was enough die cuts on the LO so I rustled up this- which only has three on- I used four 3x3 squares- matted a punched circle on top and then added the die cuts on top
