And not so plain

Well ok this one has a plain background but the other two don't

This first one is for Sassafras Lass's current sketch challenge

I took these pictures of my two youngest messing about during a cricket match- laying under the chairs and pretending to be eaten by them

I used the last of my Counterfeit kit to make this one- Nancy managing to ruin perfectly good pictures ( well almost) by pulling silly faces

The LO- somehow this is under the sketch not sure how. This LO has some of Nancy's handwriting instead of a photo- she loves writing at the moment- she loves copying anything and everything- the computer keyboard, receipts, the tv listings on the screen.

She's working on her name but maybe because she's left handed she prefers to write backwards, she writes right to left and backwards- but if you ask her to write neatly she manages to write the right way round

Anyway I have examples of both ways round now to keep forever

(I have a little bit more of her cute writing to make another LO- keep your eyes open)

Now that I have my kraft back in stock I can't stop using it so here is a run down of my latest kraft (and white) Los ( and also funnily enough the Los without sketches)

For Kraft it Up- The challenge this month is to make a LO with a timeline ( and three photos oops I didn't read that bit) So i have the before and after of our lunch- Thursday was a bank holiday Hemevaartsdag) and we went on an epic 31km cycle ride we stopped at a beach on the lake to have lunch which went down very quickly

For me

something I rustled up because I wanted to use the four punched circles on a LO- this seemed to go with it
For Fave things

The challenge at Fave things is fave toys- Our house is always strewn with toy cars- Arthur will spend hours driving them in races round and round our rug- cars of all shapes and sizes but I took a photo of these three as they had been left last week
For Scrap the boys

The challenge this month is a colour challenge ( red, yellow, aqua and white) well maybe some of my aqua is a little too blue but it does match with the blue of the water on my LO- a few weeks ago we had a weeks holiday and this LO is about that- after a full week of swimming twice a day Stanley's skin was becoming red and itchy- back to the exzcema he had as a bay

these are what I rustled up yesterday before our bank holiday Hemelvaartsdag (literally heaven journey day) today and therefore a long weekend without much chance to scrap

The Scrappiest- for this one I tried to use a combination of colours- cream from the dictionary and map paper, pale blue and pink although the butterflies are purple. It's called dirt bag cos that's what she usually is in some way- face, feet, hands always filthy the sketch

Scrap the Girls

- had a colour combination challenge- light pink, dark pink, black and white

I misted white through an old chipboard backing sheet and then dropped red mister on while it was wet so it would be pink and spread. I then outlined with pink pen. The three little punched circles are left overs from the large circle border punch I used at the bottom of the LO
Stuck Sketches

Stuck sketches have a super simple sketch this time- always good by me- I changed it a little I have circles instead of stars and all my bits are the same size. I very rarely tell people my techniques- i don't want people to feel I'm trying to teach them to suck eggs but I'm going to tell you how i made the circles-

You need to differently sized circle punches- punch through the paper with your smaller punch first- then you can position your second punch over the top and centre it round the first hole you made- punch away and you should have a punched ring

The LO is called under the bench- last week at cricket the two smallest were a little bored so they kept crawling under the bench and poking our bottoms- i had to take pictures of their giggling faces

Blimp

This my submission for From Screen to Scrap's latest challenge-Up

the challenge is to be inspired by the poster for the movie UP but also add

1. A hot air balloon or balloons

2. clouds

3. a 3D embellishment

I hope a blimp counts as a balloon as that's what they've got!

I used some cloud paper and made a3D embellishment with a punched flower, some baker's twine and a button

this is the journalling and the explanation for the LO

There was much excitement last week when we saw the Goodyear blimp over our house and then over football training. Then on Sunday James went for a run and found it tethered at our local airfield so Stanley and Nancy went to see it and take some close up pictures. We guessed it was there ready for the big match on Sunday- Ajax were playing Twente in the last game of the season- the winner would win the league- we imagine it was waiting at Hilversum ready to go and fly over the stadium during the match.

Scrapping the Music

My time as guest designer at Scrapping the MUsic is almost up :( but this week some lovely new October Afternoon paper and a new punch arrived :) so I had lots of fun putting this together for the latest challenge

the song this time round is Write A Song by Dave Matthews Band- I chose the line "Look at YOu, Look at you" for this cute picture of Nancy in her shades at the beach- she's a massive show off at the moment- loving having her photo taken or performing for the video camera I shall enjoy these chances while I can

Scrapbookers Anonymous- June challenge

The latest challenge at Scrapbookers Anonymous is live- its an easy one ( well it is if you have the right products - which I don't LOL.)

The challenge is to use up some of those small paper pads you have- either 6x6 or 8x8 - you just have to use at least three on your LO- simple

having said simple I found this one soooo difficult- I have very little paper that is smaller than 12x12- I have a few sheets that came with an 8x8 album I bought... but when I came to try and use it on a LO you couldn't really tell I was using three sheets of 8x8 as I ended up cutting it into small bits!

IN the end I went out and bought a 6x6 pad to use ( don't worry it only cost me 89 euro cents or $1.28) - I've used four sheets on the LO and I hope you can tell it's 6x6 paper-

These are the the rejects- see you can't really tell I used three sheets of 8x8 on each!

Time flies

Here is my effort for the latest challenge over at Journaling Junkie Its one that I suggested- It was milk that inspired my original idea so it was the milk that I have on my LO - I looked at the milk as I pulled it out of the fridge and though wow is it the end of February already?

The challenge is about the passing of time

In what ways do you notice the passing of time?

is it looking at old photos and realising how much everyone has changed?

is it when a tv programme comes on and you realise another week as gone by?

Is is marking off days on a calendar?

is it birthdays coming round and realising the years are moving so quickly?

I used to know the exact date when I was a teacher. I'd write the date on the board every day- sometimes more than once. Now the date jumps up me and gives me a shock. Blimey I say as I pull the milk from the fridge. Is it the end of May already? journalling 25.5.11
