When I saw this sketch I was immediately struck by the fact they had used a map style paper as the background to the LO- I also thought how am I going to make a Lo with a round photo on it- So I changed it round a bit- small photos instead of pieces of paper and a stamped clock in the middle instead of the circle photo ( although the clock is rather hidden)

It's called "a moment"

I used the same map paper on this- years ago (I'm talking about 18 years ago when i was a student) I bought a paper pad made out of unused bits of Ordnance Survey maps- I liked it too much to use it but now its coming into its own as a scrapbooking item.

I took this photo of Stanley and Nancy at the botanical Gardens last weekend- I think it looks great layered up with the strips of green and yellow paper

Pencil Lines

This is A LO with photos from way back when- they must be from about 1978 - I love the fact that Mum took a series of photos of us on the slide without the benefit of a digital camera she managed a nice little story of us playing

I have vivid memories of that slide- It was second hand when we got it and it gave you splinters in your legs if you weren't careful but we loved it

There was a sketch for inspiration over on the October Afternoon blog this week- I am desperately waiting for the new lines to appear over here but until they do I'll have to make do with some of the old lines- I used mostly Modern Homemaker on this but there are a few other bits in there as well- This ws one of those sketches/Los that make me regret not buying loads of embellishments- I usually buy mostly paper and then used the paper to embellish

It's the wrong time of year for a Lo like this but the Artastic blog is based in Australia and therefore they're heading into Autumn at the moment!?!

The challenge on the blog at the moment is to use a painting by Debbie Adams called Autumn wonder

I hate eyelets! Scrapbookers Anonymous April Challenge

The latest challenge over at Scrapbookers Anonymous is eyelets- do you have some? well get using them- They want you to use 23 eyelets on the project you make! 23 you'll probably not notice the difference in your pile of eyelets but it'll make you feel good! honest it will- (if your eyelet setter works!)73/365

I had been been itching to make this Lo for a while- then I started making it and got so frustrated with the eyelets

It was such hard work- my setter wouldn't punch through the paper- the eyelets didn't want to be hammered into place- I nearly threw in the towel at one point- it might have been the point that Nancy threw her drink on the floor because I frightened her with the noise of the hammering!

Anyway there are 24 eyelets on there somewhere

I loved adding the hand ones to go with the mucky hands in the painting- I also added others to blend in with the splashes of mister to look like a paint splattered background

Singing in the rain- From Screen to Scrap

This months challenge at from Screen to Scrap is one of my favourite films- Singing in the Rain.

I love the songs and the dancing and the whole feel of the film ( 1950s does the 1920s)

the challenge asks you to use the poster for inspiration ( see below) and to add in....

an umbrella ( mines in the photo)

rain in the title ( my title is Nancy loves the rain because the rain means umbrellas)

and threes ( I have three photos , three patterned papers and three sets of embellishments)

This LO made me realise I have so many sets of photos of Nancy and umbrellas- I made two other LOs of her with different umbrellas from different times of the year because I found so many when I was looking for photos for this!
