what can I call this?

This first LO is a double whammy- I used a sketch from Lets Capture these sketches and the challenge from These are a few of my favourite things which was to scrap your favourite pastimes - I chose our love of cycle trips on a nice sunny day- the boys love to go out and about exploring the countryside on their bikes

This Lo is for Sketchabilities

I just can't help taking pictures of Nancy- she always looks so cute, or beautiful, or funny or whatever. This photo was taken in the car on our Lake Como holiday last year.

I loved this super simple sketch from The Studio Challenges

The photo is of my Mum on her Christening day- she's being held by her cousin Georgina but she always felt more like and aunt to us and a Sister to my MUm- both of them were only an only child. They are sitting on the doorstep of a house that has since been demolished- it was a Victorian cottage without proper plumbing- my Mum can remember when the men came to empty the waste from the toilet in the back garden!

bits and bobs

This Sketch is for Pencil lines and shows the dangers of scrapping in my house when the children are in but my husband isn't! A few Sundays a go when the boys went to the football I thought I'd nip upstairs and make a quick LO- when I came back down Nancy was watching I CAn Cook- but in order to join in with the show she decided she needed to mix things- so she helped herself to three cartons of drink- poured them into a cup together and away she went.

I changed the shape on the LO from a circle to a whatever you may call it- the sketch is at the bottom of this post
How much is too much always have challenges that I find hard to complete so when I can manage I feel really rather pleased with myself!

This time the challenge was to include
10 green things- paper, seats on the photo, button, stars, journal sticker, heart, camera picture, punched border, title, rabbit sticker
3 stamped bits- bird, arrow, apple
3 sheer things- all label stickers
5 label stickers- ( 4 sheer and one green)

Its Stanley on a tour of Wimbledon in 2004- I'm not sure he really enjoyed it age two but he did when he went to the championships last year
This was the Pencil Lines sketch

So tall- spring cleaning for Scrap Our stash two

The challenge this week at Scrap Our Stash is Spring Cleaning- dig out something old that needs to be used again- some stash- some equipment or a technique

My first thought when I heard the challenge for this month was- what am I going to do?
All the other ladies seemed to have various bit of machinery they could dust off and use again but I have never bought any machinery except my sewing machine which I use regularly. I thought about using some of my old stash but it didn't seem very exciting so instead I went for a technique I used to use all the time when I started scrapbooking.
I had a collection of fonts on my computer that I downloaded from free sites and I would print out the titles for my LOs in whichever size I wanted and then trace them onto patterned paper and cut them out ( tracing rather than printing directly onto the paper was a bit more economical with the patterned paper). And yes I used to stand up at the window to trace through just like I did at school

Anyway it was such a long time since I did this that we had updated our computer and all the fonts had been lost so I had to download a few again- the font I chose to use was called Bounty and I printed the title of at font size 200!

To update the look a bit I decided to overlap the letters and stitch through them 138/365
I added some detail with some punched circles that I stuck together in groups of three to make 3D shapes

So Busy 3

As I said in So busy 1- I have been bust these last few days- but the battery in my camera ran out yesterday so I couldn't take the pictures- therefore you have a big bonanza today.

1. For Sarah's Cards (190 / 365
I used a variety of American Crafts products and made my own flowers at the bottom- I love this photo of Nancy playing on my Husbands DS- i love the way her feet are pointing at each other while she concentrates- Oh and if you look at this closely and think OMG that soft furnishing material is HIDEOUS - it is but it's in a caravan!

At the zoo last weekend Nancy threw off her coat ( despite the cold) and ballet danced down the path- super cute-the colours on this look a little more muted than they really are- it a little softer on this photo 191/365

Yet another photo from the zoo Stanley decided the best possible photo of him was a kung fu pose! those cloud stickers and the arrow are from the free football stickers at the local supermarket- cool huh! free stash! 194/365

Happy Birthday

These are the LOs I made for Stephanie's latest challenge over at Journaling Junkie- she's celebrating the 100th journaling prompt so the theme is celebration.

February sees two family birthdays Arthur and Nancy so I had plenty of recent photos to scrap
Happy Birthday

Nancy's birthday candle didn't fit into the cake and the candelabra only had
space for three candles - so there's one on its own but Nancy seemed pretty
pleased with it all

birthday party

journalling reads

Nancy and her little friends playing in the ball pit during her 4th birthday
party- she was so excited to invite friends and get presents. She didn't even
mind that she had to share the party with Arthur! In the picture are Nancy 9
covered with balls) Lucy and Louise. They liked the baby area best but Nancy
was much more confident!

I think I need to make another one though- something about a bigger celebration- why don't you have a go as well? You may see another post on this later in the month!

More inspiration and a sketch

Show us your stuff have a sketch challenge at the moment- the aim of this challenge site is to use some hand made stuff on your page- this time they asked you to inculde a number in the title as well.

So this is what I produced. the photo is of the boys get a close up of the three lionesses at Amersfoort Zoo last March ( so that's the number in the title)

the hand made item was not hand made by me ( sorry) but it is the very cute fox stamp that I bought from Etsy last week ( and that arrived today)- So this is also being entered for the Counterfiet Kit challenge blog ( inspired by Etsy) as I used my kit to make this LO

The link for the stamp on Etsy is here- Fox stamp

and this is the sketch

So busy 2

Another one for Stuck Sketches using the same sketch as the previous post.

the next two have a bit of a theme- James has a voucher for a half price large canvas photo print- so it was decided that we needed a good photo of the three of them to be able to use it- I tried a few in our garden and failed so we thought we'd take the camera to Amersfoort zoo last weekend and try and get them to pose there. Well 100 photos later and I am still no nearer to a good shot- the next two LOs show a selection of the failures

the first one is for Dutch Dares

And the second is for Sketchy ThursdayS
