When I first started this LO it was meant to be the LO I posted yesterday with the stitched frames. But as I made the LO my bits of paper were too big so it morphed into this. I bought the cassette tape stamp from Etsy. In the middle of the papers is a strip of washi tape with layers of paper and a cut out stamped image layered on top.
The photo is of my three and their cousins who came to visit us in Holland one summer.

Sunshine Reggae
The last summer holiday themed song of the summer for Scrap it With a Song. This week it is Sunshine reggae by Bob Marley. I used the song title for inspiration and chose the yellow colours to go with the title and the golden glow from Nancy's jumper.

holiday circles
I seem to have taken a few circle photos on our recent holiday to the Netherlands. So from right to left we have..
The menu from a pancake restaurant
A mixed flavour slushie
A jellyfish on the beach
I found these cheap spiral paper clips in the supermarket really cheaply.

waves
I love the soft colours of the sea in these pictures of Arthur on the beach. He loves to have his feet in the water even when it is freezing cold and he needs to wear wellies.

Junior showcase
Nancy does theatre school lessons every Saturday morning and they then do a show in the spring term to showcase what the little ones have been doing. No costumes just their talents on show. I didn't get a great view so the photos are taken through a crowd of heads. Nancy took the starring role of the Ugly Duckling in her groups performance.

adorable hair
i love, love ,love the colour of my daughters hair. I just hope she will love it as much, i don't want her to dye her hair like my sister did throughout her teenage years.

angel with a dirty face
I'm in the mood to use up some older paper in my stash. This is an old American Crafts paper that I love but the big bold pattern held me back whenever I thought about using it. So I used a large block of it to show off the pattern. At the top there are some lines of bakers twine that I stuck across the page.
It's called Angel with a Dirty Face because if you look closely you can see that Nancy has a big ring of something orange around her mouth.

hand drawn
Nancy love to draw ( apart from when I ask her to ). These are apparently attempts to draw her teacher ( I thought one of them was a man) .
I tend to take pictures of what she has drawn because its difficult to store all her pictures. There are a few Los with photos of Nancy's drawings coming up in the next few weeks.

Zaanse Schans
I was inspired to make this LO by something I saw on Scrapjacked. I loved the way that circles had been cut from the same paper and layered to break up the pattern.
When we knew we were leaving the Netherlands we made sure we visited all the places we had wanted to visit but not got round to yet ( apart for one disasterous visit to The Hague so i could see the Girl with a Pearl Earring we were pretty successful) this photo is from our visit to the Zaanse Schans with its row of windmills.

lots of dots
I wasn't sure how to approach the latest challenge at Child's play challenges. It's Dot to Dots this week so I printed off a dot to dot picture , completed it , and then used it as a patterned paper. I also found a Smash Book page that was a dot to dot but I mostly covered that with the title. I used a picture that showed off Nancy's freckles to go with the title" lots of dots".
The dot to dots then inspired my youngest two to print some dot to dots from the computer and complete them so now I have some lovely pictures of them completing them on the floor. Stay tuned to see those on a page but my printer is out of ink so it may take a while to get them sorted.

Mascot trails
Do you ever take so many photos of one thing you don't know what to do with them all? I feel like that about the photos I took of the Olympic mascot statues in
London last year.i took close up details of my favourites as well as pictures of the children with all the ones we found.I squeezed four of the close up pictures onto one LO.
I chose four pictures that had garden type themes and then added a bunch of flowery bits in the corner.
My title actually includes only one correct letter. The m is a w. the a is a cut down d. The s was an 8. The t is two straight bits and officially the o was a zero.Sunday, 18 August 2013
Team of Three
When Stanley was at school in Holland he was following the International Baccalaureate programme, as part of that they had to produce a presentation to practice for what they wold do in order to graduate. Stanley was in a team of three and they chose the European Explorers as their topic. They had to stay with the poster and explain it to the visitors. I have to say Stanley was pretty good at staying and explaining while the the others went round and looked at everyone else's.

E.T.
This LO is for Scrap the Boys. The challenge monochrome with chipboard and twine.
So my monochrome is blue obviously and I had to resort to chipboard letters . The twine I glued down onto punched circles to create the striped dots you can see on the LO.
The photo is from a trip to Madame Tussaud's. Arthur had a photo with ET on the bike in the movie section.

Nancy
This LO is for Scrap the Girls. It is a recipe challenge this month. You have to use
Chipboard- I have the photo holders and a circle piece
Flowers- I used three
Masking - I tried and failed - I used a ring sticker and dripped the mist over it but not enough for the circle to actually show
And doodling- I am not good on doodling so if you look really close there are three little hand drawn hearts and some wobbly trails from the butterflies

Holiday
The next challenge for Scrap it With a Song is the 80s classic Holiday by Madonna, what better to use for the LO than the title of the song.
Nancy Selfie
The LO is about the self portrait NAncy took of her feet. She loves taking pictures of herself including her feet.

mummy mummy
This LO is for White With One. The challenge this month is white with pastels and masking- well I managed to get some misting on which is good for me. I used a lot of bits and bobs that were on my desk. I am so loving my bird cake toppers at the moment. Much better used on a LO than stuck in a cake I think.
The LO is called Mummy Mummy because that's what Nancy was saying when I took the photos. The whine of Mummy Mummy and the associated pulling and patting drives me mad but I know I shall miss it when they are all grown up.

Snapshots
This LO is for the challenge at Sarahs Cards you can see the sletch below.
i swapped things round a little.like the LO of the photos but i tried to keep the banner elements at the side and the large embellishment at the top.
I've used a few Project life cards on the LO including the title- Snapshots
the photos are all from the swimming pool on holiday. I tried to get some good shots of my three coming down the water slide but wasn't really successful.

And Nancy Scraps too.
Nancy has started her own scrapbook. She used to mess around with bits
of paper while I scrapped so now I've passed her a scrapbook of her own
and lots of bits of paper that I was unlikely to use. Her results
are..... Interesting. Judge for yourself below. ( remember she is only
six and all of it is her own work.)

Going Underground ( again)
I think I keep using this title. I certainly keep taking picutres of the family on the London Underground when we visit. I have even been known to take pictures of the pattern of the material on the seats ( when we are in a uncrowned carriage at least).

Last day
I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest to make the border on this LO. The LO is about Arthur and Nancy's last day at school in Holland. I took a picture with their teacher as Nancy wasn't on the school photo at the beginning of school as she hadn't started. I thought the colours of the paper went with the colours of the photo. Notice all the displays had been taken down from the walls as it was the last day.

keep shut @ the War rooms
Last Easter we took a trip to London and visited the Cabinet War Rooms in Whitehall, the underground offices used during the World War Two blitz. There are two photos on this page, one of them is a sign painted on the wall and the other is Stanley posing with a fake cigar like Winston Churchill.

This is Life
A scrap lift of a LO I saw somewhere . I apologise as aim hopeless at recording where my ideas come from. I tend to copy and paste into a power point and then print off as a handout for inspiration ideas without recording where they have come from.
When we were in Belgium last year for our summer holiday we visited Ghent. There were letters alongside the canal and luckily enough there wer letters S, A and N for each of my children so we, of course, made them pose next to their initial.

Lekker Isje
this LO is from our May holiday to Zeeland. We visited a little town called Veere that we had never been to before and had the most delicious ice cream ( well four of us did Arthur decided he wanted a slush from the shop down the road.). The title means delicious Ice cream,in Dutch, in case you were wondering.

In the Dunes
A quick LO from our trip to the Netherlands in the May holiday. The beaches have wonderful dunes at the back so I took a picture of Nancy in the long grass on the dunes while the boys played cricket on the beach.

Hoot- Mini Golf
i have loved being on the design team for From Screen to Scrap- there have been such great challenges but at the momnet Shazza has decided to mothball the site for a while while life intervened as it always does.
This then is my last LO for From Screen to Scrap, at least for a while, the poster for inspiration is Hoot. the only requirement this last time is to get an owl on your page somewhere

With You - where the Streets Have No Name
The summer holidays are here at Scrap it With a Song and there are a number of holiday themed songs coming up this month for you to get inspired by. The first song is by U2 - where the streets have no name.
The song title inspired me to use a map paper and then I used the line "only to be with you" . You can just about see Arthur in the background of the photo. The photo is from our summer holiday in Belgium last year. I love the fact that on the continent jars are designed to be reused after. They come in the shape of a drinking glass and these ones had Smurfs on - perfect for a jar of mustard.
