Purple Rain

There is a colourful theme at scrap it with a song at the moment and this week the challenge is Purple Rain by Prince. It was a hard song to make a LO for, the lyrics didn't appeal so I just used a purple base for my LO. Purple is a hard colour to use for me, I love the colour but not on scrapbook pages (or clothes). The LO looks a bit odd in this photo as the Hambly overlay is reflecting the conservatory roof. I had to add the doily as I had already chopped bits out of the page to use elsewhere.

family band

This LO is a straight scrap lift of an idea I saw somewhere. ( I'm not sure where but maybe someone can tell me)
I made squares from a two inch strip of paper  and cut them in half. It was then easy to place them edge to edge on the paper to make this cute quilted pattern

The LO is about a little moment before we went out to a family Christening ( hence the fancy outfits) when James and the kids were messing about with their ukuleles

Winner

Sometimes when I make a LO I make another in a different colour scheme. It make scrapping quick and easy but the two LOs don't really look alike. This LO uses the same Set of strips as the pink hearts LO I posted a few days ago.

The LO is about Arthur's football tournament. He would not let me take a picture of him in his school kit but I managed to sneak this one while he was waiting to play in the final. They won on penalties. He was so thrilled and proud but I love the shy/ nervous look on his face in this photo

Eye

This LO is for the sketch challenge at Dutch Dares. I used a couple of pictures of Arthur on the London Eye enjoying the view. The colour scheme goes with the subdued colours of  the hipstamaic prints.

woodland walk

This LO is inspired by the sketch at Stuck sketches
When we went on holiday last year it was very hot. Every evening we took a stroll down by the river though the wooded path in the shade to get to a nearby hotel where we had cool refreshing drinks before or after dinner

The photo shows views of the wooded walk

The photos are of the wooded walk

Explore

I made a second LO using Shimelle's starting point.  This one has a photo of my three during a walk in the woods at Coombe Abbey near Coventry.

toilet wall

This one was a quick LO for the challenge at StudioChallenges. They wanted a LO without patterned paper and with washi tape instead. I used washi tape to make a border for the LO which makes it look like its backed onto Patterned paper.

The photo is of me (just) reflected in the mirror on our toilet wall. You can see the wall is covered in postcards that we have received through Postcrossing

Enjoy the summer

I love sketches because sometimes you can whip up a couple of LOs with one but they both look completely different. This one wA from Sarahs cards and its my second effort at it (and the best I think).
The photo is from the same trip to Kenilworth Castle last summer. Arthur is the little dot of a figure at the top of the hill

copying

I just love the LOs made by Paige  Evans and here is my version of one of her beautiful LOs from recent weeks using the strips from the edges of the paper as a woven map.

Harvest Festival

This LO is for the starting point challenge at Shimelle this week.  It's a photo from Nancy's harvest festival service in the church last year. I was so lucky to sit in the perfect spot to get a view of her while she was singing.

Hello Sherlock

I've managed to whip up a few LOs this week by avoiding doing the work I should be doing in my week off work. But hey it's a week off work so I feel I should have some fun.

This one was a real quickie. It has one of the many photos of my three enjoying finding the Olympic mascots dotted round London last summer. This one was a Sherlock Holmes painted mascot in Regent's park

Summer at the CAstle

and another one from ny flurry today- this one is for the Feb sketch at Sarahs Cards- I love this sketch so I might make another LO with a bit more paer on it but for now I have this

It has three instagram pictures from last summer- they are of my three having a clamber round the ruins at Kenilworth Castle- a fvaourite spot of ours to visit.

PArty Girl

So this LO is for another Freaking Scrappy Challenge- you may have noticed a flurry of activity today- I have a week off work for half term but my children's half term was last week .  :(

This LO has a couple of pictures of Nancy after a recent friends party- they had a face painter and Nancy got there quite early- she managed to get her face done and some flowers up her arm- of couse we both wanted photos
its using the sketch from AFSC

Tears For Fears

N
This LO is for Scrap it With a Song tears for Fears challenge.
The song is by Tears for Fears and I chose a line that comes right at the end
"One little boy one little man"
To illustrate the lyric I chose three pictures of Arthur aged about three, five and seven. It's hard to believe how quickly he's changed. He looks even more different now as he has a hair cut but I like the   transition but with the same haircut

Casino JAck

Half the month gone and I am still not up to date
This LO is for the Feb challenge At From Screen to Scrap
The challenge is to use the movie poster for Casino Jack as inspiration
As well as the poster the LO needed grey cardstock, playing cards and bank notes
The playing cards were easy enough as I had a stash of mini cards from Christmas crackers
The bank note was a little harder but I used a bank note that Arthur was sent in the post from the Philippines

pink hearts

This LO is for the lates challenge at  White with One

The challenge white with pink and hearts. this made me realise how little pink I buy. I had to resort to some paper with patterns if pink and other colours in order to find enough paper to use. the title is supposed to be the title of the paper- it was on the strip at the bottom and I left it on- Love at First Sight

take a seat

This LO is for the 1st Feb sketch at Stuck Sketches ( see below)

i decided not to use three photos but kind of replicated it by using a photo of my three in weird plastic armchairs at the hypermarket in France when we were on holiday.
they looked absolutly tiny sitting in the chairs next to a massive yellow wall- so of course I took a photo

confusion

This LO is for the latest challenge at Scrap OUr Stash- this month it is anything fuzzy

I used to have so much felt stuff in my stash but I found I had very little left when I started this challenge. In the end I just used some old felt sticker ribbon from Queen and Co to embellish the LO.

The photo is Nancy at her brother's family birthday party. I have no idea why she looks so confused but I love to take close ups of my kids faces and do so at any oppurtunity. I guess I just took the chance when I had it.
