pair- using supplis volume 2 #2

I finally managed to get back to my second set of supplies and made a few LOs with it. You can hardly see them but the two dots in the photo are Arthur and Nancy sitting by Rutland Water while we were on a cycle ride .

cat boy

scrapbooking sketch by shimelle laine @ shimelle.com

another Shimelle sketch- this time using  quarters- i went for a colour scheme of blakc and turquoise as it fitted with the photos. they shw Arthur as a cat in his school play- they did the Pied Piper of Hamlin so he was a pretty ineffectual cat.

Rad in a nutshell

another Shimelle sketch. this time I changed it slightly so that there were only two photos. The strange pose in the bottom picture is because Nancy was posing as One Direction- she says this is how they stand when they sing- haven't noticed it myself.

Shimelle has a number if sketch challenges active at her site at the momnet and I am desperately trying to complete a few. I have had a bit of a hectic week so the LOS that I mananged to make last week are only now ready to post. this sketch involved using a starburst ot the top of the LO- i made mine using a variety of washi tapes.

recipe for

I made a very simple version of the sketch over at Sarah's cards for this months challenge. i just used a couple of strips of washi tape, a basic gray chipboard piece, a couple of project life cards and a punch along with three photos in a strip.

next to me

Another challenge for Scrap it with a Song. This week it is Emili Sande for the Pop Girls with the song Next To Me. We couldn't get away from Emilie Sande last summer she was everywhere including the Olympic ceremonies. I chose a photo from last summer to use. Me and Nancy watching  the action at Kenilworth castle. The photo was taken by Nancy herself as she sat on my lap.

French Chateau

This LO is for the June sketch challenge at Scrap Our Stash. The sketch can be seen at the blog ( follow the link at the side) but the challenge also involves using up scraps of paper, using tags and twine or jute as well.

Its called French Chatuea and the pictures are of our visit to a local castle when we went to France last summer. there are three tags on there and a couple of shades of twine as well. Nancy is the cold grumpy child in the first picture- it was very windy and you couldn't go inside so we left quite quickly and went to watch some showjumping instead

using supplies volume 2 ~#1

Ok so I thought I would challenge myself again with a limited range of supplies and see how many LOs I could get out of them. This time I chose 10 papers which are double sided which gives me more options and as many pieces of Kraft as I wanted to make the LOs. Here are my papers
And the other side of those papers
and this is the first LO I made from those papers i just went with the title on the journalling block as my title for the LO- its called Good Times. the photo is Stanley and Nancy at the football match and considering our team , Wolves, has just been relegated a photo from last season when we were still in the Championship was good times. Notice Nacy is wearing a scarf from the season before , which reads Premier Wolves, because we were relegated last year as well. lets hope for better luck next season

using supplies 10 Giant Ferris Wheel

This is the last LO I managed to create with my supplies challenge. I punched out circles from the scraps that we left. In the end I decided to replace one with a square sticker. I used a sticker for the title and you may notice that yet again there are more pictures of the London Eye.

The picture below shows the scraps that I had left. I reckon I could get another LO out of them if I wanted but I am going to move onto a second challenge with a new set of paper. the problem is that if I can get this many LOs out of a limited supply of paper can I justify all the paper that I buy. think I may need to rethink something ( but maybe not the paper buying)

using supplies 9 Belgian frites

This LO for my supplies challenge is called Belgian Frites. Last summer we went on holiday to Belgium and it was boiling hot. This Photo was from a day when we visited a cave hoping for a bit of cool. We ate frites in the shade afterwards.

For this LO I used six small oblongs of paper of mostly equal size. They were matched up to the size of portions of the journaling bits paper. One scrap was too small so I added some punched border to the bottom.

using supplies 8 shirt and tie

For this LO I combined my supplies challenge ( you may want to scroll down a few and try and find the original post) with my design team LO for Scrap it With a Song. The challenge this week is Justin Bieber Suit and Tie. I thought the photo was perfect , apart from the fact that Arthur doesn't have a suit , just a waistcoat and tie.

The photo is Arthur and his cousin from a family christening.

My one thousandth post

So for my 1000th post I decided to repost my first ever blog post. I was quite thrilled when I scrolled back to the beginning and found this LO I made of my daughter and my husband. It has inspired me to try and use a few more large scale photos on my LOs and to use my fancy camera a bit more as the photos always turn out so well.

I love these Guys

My LO for the latest challenge at Scrap Our Stash. The challenge this month I'd " I love these guys"  it should be for males in your life but I wanted to use the picture of my three children and these pictures in particular because of the yellow slide in the background.

Why did I need the yellow slide in the picture? The rest of the challenge is to use at least five brads on the LO. Now I don't really have many brads but I had managed to rustle up six yellow ones, so I chose the papers and the photos to go with the brads.

using supplies 6

LO number six from my supplies challenge- the good and bad of Nancy photos. This is the second LO where I used a whole piece as the background ( although again I gutted it) if you want to see my supplies scroll down a bit.

Hot Summer Ice Cream

This is my latest challenge for From Screen to Scrap. The challenge for June is to use the movie poster for the Great and powerful Oz as inspiration and include on the LO
1. A gold title ( I managed part gold with some green)
2. A fence ( I made mine from strips of paper
3. A hot air ballon ( I used a piece of paper that already had the ballon on it)

The photo is Nancy sitting in the shade eating an ice cream during our very hot summer holiday last year in Belgium

I t would be great if you could join us in the challenge this month. Why not follow the link at the side and come and join us
